Reiki is a laying on of hands touch healing system, spanning almost all of the written records of humanity with the healing system itself older than any written account.Traditional Reiki began in the 1800's but was ancient even then.
The process of attunement or initiation is what sets Reiki apart from every other form of laying on of hands or touch healing.It is the attunements themselves that are Reiki, and without this process, which must be passed directly from Teacher/Master to student, the healing system is not Reiki but something else.
Reiki requires no background knowledge of philosophy, religion or medicine and can be  used by anyone. Reiki fulfills the non dogmatic method of further developing ourselves, which is also compatible with all personal philosophy's of life or religion.
Reiki is a method of self-realization, a path to the Light, to God or to oneself with the energy flowing through us like wind through a bamboo reed facilitating healing on ourselves, situations and others.
Experiencing the divinity inherent to all of us and using Reiki is a great honor, cleansing and strengthening the naturally existing channels.
In this time of change and crisis for people and the planet, healing is desperately needed. Reiki is the spiritual heritage of all of humanity.
